DEBORB: Advanced Space Debris Tracking and Cataloguing

DEBORB is SpaceDyS’ proprietary software suite for orbit determination and tracking of space debris.
Designed to process large volumes of radar and optical observations, DEBORB enables the creation and maintenance of reliable space object catalogues — a critical component of Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) systems.

Core Capabilities

  • Cataloging from Scratch: DEBORB can build and maintain a comprehensive catalog of space objects by processing data from optical telescope networks and radar tracking systems.
  • Advanced Algorithms: It utilizes sophisticated methods for Initial Orbit Determination (IOD)—specifically the “Keplerian Integral” class—and orbit improvement using follow-up observations.

Correlation Features: The software includes tools for:

  • Track-to-track correlation: Linking different observation sets of the same object.
  • Track-to-orbit correlation: Matching new observations with existing cataloged orbits.
  • Orbit-to-orbit correlation: Refining data by comparing different orbital solutions.

DEBORB supports collision risk assessment, long-term debris evolution analysis and operational Space Traffic Management (STM).
