IHS: National Space Surveillance Infrastructure

Since 2023, SpaceDyS is a key partner in the Infrastruttura Hardware e Software (IHS) project led by Telespazio for Agenzia Spaziale Italiana.

Objective
The project establishes advanced national capabilities in:

• Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST)
• Space Traffic Management (STM)
• Space object cataloguing and correlation

SpaceDyS Role
SpaceDyS develops the Orbit Determination and Correlation software suite, enabling:

• Accurate catalog maintenance
• Data fusion from heterogeneous sensors
• Collision avoidance warning generation

Infrastructure
Hosted at the Centro di Geodesia Spaziale Giuseppe Colombo in Matera, the system operates on high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure and integrates data from:

• Flyeye telescopes
• MLRO
• SPADE

The IHS represents Italy’s civilian technological pillar within the EU-SST framework.
